Majid Kazmi

Clinical Advisor

Dr Kazmi qualified from the University of Aberdeen in 1991 with Commendation, he is a member of European group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT), International Myeloma Society, Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management and American Society of Haematology (ASH).

He has been a consultant in Haemato-oncology since 2001 at Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. His private work is at Leaders in Oncology. He is currently Deputy Medical Director and Director of Innovation/Research/Digital & Commercial for Cancer and Surgery at Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

He was previously Chief of Cancer services and prior to that Clinical Director of Oncology and Haematology. In 2019 he was Shortlisted for the role of National Clinical Director for Cancer. He holds extensive experience in clinical leadership and operational experience of running a large directorate in an acute care organisation covering cancer and non-cancer specialties.

He is a CQC specialist adviser and has helped support the work of NICE in providing expert advice to support technology appraisals in the fields of myeloma and stem cell transplantation.

He has published over 50 peer reviewed papers, book chapters and articles and lectures extensively on myeloma and transplantation. He has written practice changing guidelines in Myeloma as well as stem cell transplantation.
